  • Dr Greg Muir

    B.V.Sc M.A.C.V.Sc (Hons)  

    Greg has wanted to be a veterinarian since his school days and has always had animals in the house growing up.

    Greg attended Sydney University and graduated with first class honors in 1990. He then worked in a mixed practice in Rockhampton before moving to England for two years to work in a small animal practice. After returning to Australia and working in Townsville for a short period, Greg then purchased the Alma Street Veterinary Surgery in 1998.

  • Lenore Stewart
    Practice Manager

    Lenore began her Vet Nursing career in Mackay before traveling Australia with her husband for a number of years, working on cattle stations. Together they eventually settled on a small property outside Rockhampton where Lenore continued on with her vet nursing.

    Lenore then attained her Certificate in vet nursing and went on to also complete her Certificate in Practice Management which led her to become the Practice Manager at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital, a position she has held for many years now. Lenore enjoys seeing and meeting all the clients and their pets who visit Alma Street Veterinary Hospital.

    In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, the dog, cat, cockatoo and several horses. 

  • Nicole French

    Nicole joined our team in March 2012 as our part-time Accounts Clerk. Nicole is from Tasmania, but it was too cold so moved to sunny Queensland. 

    Outside of work Nicole has two gorgeous children, husband and two dogs. She enjoys playing netball, running and in her down time loves a good book.

  • Dr Susan Connor

    B.V.Sc (Hons)  

    Susan grew up on a large cattle property which ignited her desire to become a veterinarian and in 1992 graduated from Queensland University with a B.V.Sc (Hons).

    Susan has stayed working within the Rockhampton region since graduating, firstly in a mixed practice for ten years however her love for small animals brought her to join the team here at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital in 2002. Susan and her husband are the proud parents of three beautiful children and now live on a cattle property west of Rockhampton. Included in their family are three cats, two dogs plus numerous horses and cattle. As a veterinarian Susan loves the satisfaction of helping people's beloved pets and developing a personal relationship with both owner and pet.

  • Dr Nic Spooner

    Nic is a holistic veterinarian who is passionate about integrating veterinary medicine with alternative therapies. Originally from a cattle property in Central Queensland, Nic graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001. She completed a small animal internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists in 2004 and obtained her membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Emergency Medicine and Critical Care in 2005. Over the past 16 years she has worked in mixed, small animal, emergency and specialist practices. She is now completing her Graduate Diplomas in Western Veterinary Herbal Medicine and Veterinary Acupuncture and has a special interest in holistic nutrition. Nic has been working at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital on a casual basis since 2010 and will now be offering integrative medicine consults where she will create holistic wellness plans for her patients combining a conventional approach to diagnosis and treatment with natural nutrition, supplementation, exercise, environmental and stress management, physical therapies and alternative therapies including western herbs and acupuncture. She is excited to introduce other complementary and alternative modalities in the future. Nic lives in Yeppoon with her three children, their cat Slinky Malinki and some pampered sussex hens.

  • Dr Jamie Tighe

    Jamie attended the University of Queensland in Brisbane and graduated with honours in 1995. She worked in a mixed practice in South Australia for two years then moved to Melbourne to pursue a career as a small animal practitioner. After 9 years in Melbourne she moved north to Rockhampton to be close to family and friends.

  • Dr Kate Sollars

    Kate grew up in Hampshire, England and graduated from Bristol University in 2009. In search of some sunshine she moved to mid north coast NSW soon after graduating and began her career as a mixed practice vet. After developing an interest in surgery Kate moved to Sydney to do a surgical internship and passed her membership exams in small animal surgery 2013.

    Kate joined the team at Alma Street in November 2013 and is loving the Queensland weather! She has a special interest in small animal surgery, including orthopedics, soft tissue surgery and wound management. Kate and her husband Rob have two very spoilt dogs called Donkey and Skye who enjoy chasing tennis balls and long walks on the beach.

  • Miranda Crane

    Miranda has been a Receptionist with Alma Street Veterinary Hospital since October 2008. She loves spending her working day with the animals that come though the door. She is a mad NRL fan and supports the Canterbury Bulldogs. She also runs the Alma Street Veterinary Hospital tipping competition each year. Outside of work Miranda enjoys playing sports, camping, and spending time with her two beautiful children and husband.

  • Alice Carige

    Alice joined the Alma Street Team in August 2011 and has been a bright and bubbly addition to the team. Alice is from out west and grew up on her families cattle property which she enjoys returning home to visit her family and animals.

    Outside of work she is a keen sports woman, playing netball and OzTag. Alice also has a siamese fighting fish named Sushi, who lives at the hospital. 

  • Kiera Grieve

    Kiera has been a part of the team since 2013. She is wanting to pursue her dream of Veterinary Nursing in the near future and her love of animals is apparent in her daily work. Her light and cheer disposition is a positive influence to both clients and staff alike. 

    Outside her working hours she loves spending time with her Great Dane, Atlas, Cat, Toothless, and partner. She is also part of the Alma Street OzTag team.

  • Naomi Wilson

    Naomi started at Alma Street in December 2014. She has since taken on the task if raising two puppies and found them forever homes in the process. Her love of animals has been a great addition to the Alma Street family. 

    Outside of work she enjoys doing laps in the pool, photography and traveling the world. She has been to New Zealand and doesn't want to stop there, she is super excited about her upcoming Europe trip. 

    She has two fluffy pooches at home, Fergie and Eddy, who both enjoy coming to work just as much as she does. Her bright and humorous personality has been a great attribute to both the staff and clients. 

  • Tess Huxley

    Tess has been with us since December 2014. She is a part time receptionist and is constantly running around with her busy schedule from fostering for CAA , looking after her husband and on top of that all her fur babies at home.  She also works part time a Aislinn Photography. She has been a wonderful additional to the team with her bright and bubbly personality and always has a smile on her face. 

  • Kimberly Poots

    Kimberly started at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital as a Trainee in 2009 while completing year 12 at Rockhampton Grammar School, then became a fulltime employee in 2010 as a Veterinary Nurse. Kimberly completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in July 2012, and in early 2015 completed her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (General Practice).

    Kimberly truly enjoys veterinary nursing, and has a keen interest in animal behaviour and radiography. Outside of work she loves playing sports and spending time with Boss her Bull Mastiff and her husband, Andrew. 

    ***Kimberly and her husband Andrew are currently travelling around Australia and will be back at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital in 2017. 

  • Meagan Shepherd

    Meagan joined the team at Alma Street Veterinary Hospital in July 2009 and quickly developed a passion for surgery, radiography and patient care. Meagan has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has furthered her studies to specialise in clinical pathology, rehabilitation and emergency nursing. 

    At home Meagan is kept busy with five gorgeous cats, Tyra, Zeus, Jasper, Tahj and Ariel as well as two dogs Bodie and Shadow.

    Outside of work she loves spending time with her partner as well as having a keen interest in photography and drawing. Meagan also is passionate about cruelty free beauty, being a self taught makeup artist with a beauty blog.

  • Taylor Wark

    Taylor started working at ASVH in April 2013. During her time here Taylor has managed to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is looking to further her studies in areas such as pathology and practice management. Taylor has been very passionate about animals since she was a child and it is evident in her work. Her caring and kind nature carries over to her patients, clients and fellow staff members making her a valued member of the Alma Street Team. Outside of work Taylor enjoys horse riding, playing netball and spending time with family and friends. 

  • Kirsti Mellor
    Nurse and Puppy Preschool Instructor

    Kirsti has been with Alma Street since December 2012 and has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Kirsti's veterinary interest are radiography and pet behavior.

    Outside of work Kirsti loves camping, travelling, photography. She loves spending time with her family, friends and two dogs Devon and Zoe. 

  • Rebecca Flamank

    Rebecca completed work experience at Alma Street in grade 10 and hasn't been able to stay away since. Working as a trainee through grade 11 and 12, she devoted her spare time to become as good as the nurses at Alma street who inspired her.

    She is currently working through her certificate 4 in veterinary nursing and is hoping to complete a diploma in emergency nursing. 

    She has affectionately gained the title of 'wildlife nurse' and has hand reared numerous baby possums and joeys, nursed adult possums, wombats, quolls, bandicoots, a koala and nursed many other furry (and furless) bundles back to health. 

  • Tamara Bradshaw

    Tamara became part of the Alma Street team in August 2013 and is currently completing her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. 

    With her happy and easy going personality she bring a sense of fun to the workplace, making her an excellent addition to the team. 

    Her love for animals is apparent and she always has a smile on her face. When she isn't at work Tamara enjoys spending time with her family and friends and dogs Oreo and Maddy.

  • Hannah Featherstone

    Hannah started at Alma Street part time in October 2013 and became a full time member of the team in February 2014. She has always been passionate about working with animals and is currently completing her Cert IV in Vet Nursing. Her bright and bubbly personality make her a positive influence in the workplace and her love for her job shines through.

    She enjoys spending her downtime with friends and family and doting on her furbabies, Bundy, Rosie, Shanequa and Rastus.

  • Madison Rosenberg

    Madison has been with Alma Street since March 2014 and is currently studying Certificate IV in vet nursing. Madison grew up on a farm at Alton Down and her love for animals came at an early age with dogs, cats, horses and cattle. 

    Madison's interests outside of work is spending time with her family and friends, competing at camp drafts on her paint gelding 'Two Up'and playing with her dog 'Áriat'.

  • Alana Kowald

    Alana starting at Alma Street with work placement in July 2014 for her certificate II in Animal Studies. She then moved into a casual position in October 2014 as a veterinary nurse. Alana is planning on continuing her study and going on to do the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. 

    Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, friends and my pets Turbo and Chubby. She also enjoys making old tea cups and jars into decorative candles.

    Part Time Nurse

    Katie is a year 12 student at the Rockhampton Grammar School. Katie started as a Part Time employee in July 2016. She has grown up on properties and has a strong love and knowledge of animals. She loves spending time with her multiple dogs and horses. Katie is a keen player of sport, having played touch, soccer, water polo, softball, oztag and basketball. Other things she enjoys include reading, camping, horse riding, motorbikes and spending time with family and friends.
